Child Safety Policy
Last updated: April 10, 2026
Our commitment
Classbookly is an online marketplace connecting students with independent teachers. While we are not an educational institution, we take the safety of young learners seriously. This policy outlines the measures we have in place to protect minors using our platform.
Age requirements
- Children under 13 may not use Classbookly.
- Students aged 13-17 may use the platform with verified parental or guardian consent.
- Parents/guardians must confirm their consent via email before a minor account becomes active.
Parental responsibility
- Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child's use of Classbookly.
- We strongly recommend that a parent or guardian is present during lessons, especially for children under 16.
- Parents/guardians have access to their child's booking history and can contact support at any time.
Teacher verification
- All teachers complete a verification process including profile review, intro video assessment, CV/certificate upload, and teaching knowledge quiz before publishing.
- Teachers who offer lessons to children ("Kids" specialization) must additionally complete a child safety self-declaration confirming they have no criminal convictions related to minors.
- Classbookly reserves the right to request additional documentation at any time.
Lesson environment
- Lessons are conducted via third-party video conferencing tools (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar) chosen by the teacher.
- Classbookly does not record lessons.
- We recommend lessons take place in shared family spaces, not in private rooms with closed doors.
Reporting concerns
If you have any concerns about a teacher's behavior or your child's safety:
- Use the "Report a concern" button in the student dashboard
- Email us directly at safety@classbookly.com
- We review all reports within 24 hours
- Reports involving minors are treated as high priority
If a child is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services first.
Our response
When we receive a report involving a minor:
- We review the report within 24 hours
- We may suspend the teacher's account during investigation
- We may permanently remove a teacher from the platform
- We will cooperate with law enforcement if required
- We will notify the reporting parent/guardian of the outcome
Data protection for minors
- We collect minimal data from minor users (name, email, date of birth, parent contact)
- We do not use minor users' data for marketing purposes
- Parents can request deletion of their child's data at any time
- See our Privacy Policy for full details
