Child Safety Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
Our commitment
Classbookly is an online marketplace connecting students with independent teachers. We are not a school or childcare provider, but we take the safety of young learners seriously and design the Platform to reduce risk, require parental consent where appropriate, and give families a way to report concerns quickly.
Age requirements
- Children under 13 may not use Classbookly.
- Students aged 13-17 may use the Platform only with verified parental or guardian consent.
- A minor account cannot book lessons until consent has been confirmed.
Parental responsibility
- Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their child's use of the Platform.
- We strongly recommend that a parent or guardian remains nearby during lessons, especially for younger learners.
- Parents or guardians may contact support about bookings, safety, or account removal at any time.
Teacher verification
- All teachers complete profile review, intro video review, and a teaching quiz before publishing.
- English teachers must upload a teaching certificate as part of verification. CVs are optional supporting documents.
- Teachers who offer lessons to children may be asked for additional declarations or supporting information.
- Classbookly may suspend, unpublish, or permanently remove teachers who fail to meet safety expectations.
Lesson environment
- Lessons take place via third-party video conferencing tools selected by the teacher, such as Zoom or Google Meet.
- Classbookly does not record lessons by default.
- We recommend lessons take place in shared family spaces rather than closed private rooms.
Reporting concerns
If you have any concern about a teacher's behavior or a minor's safety:
- Use the in-product reporting tools where available
- Email safety@classbookly.com
- Include as much detail as possible so we can investigate quickly
- Reports involving minors are prioritized
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Our response
When we receive a report involving a minor, we may review account records, restrict access, suspend a teacher during investigation, or cooperate with law enforcement where required by law.
Data protection for minors
- We collect only the minimum data needed to operate the account and confirm parental consent.
- We do not use minors' data for advertising.
- Parents or guardians may request deletion of a child's data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
- See our Privacy Policy for more details.
